I try to incorporate a little of my heart in every painting. Sometimes it's all whimsy. Sometimes there is a lot of soul searching, wondering, wishing I knew more. Somewhere deep inside of me is the blood of my grandmother x 14 generations. A young woman of the Mohawk tribe. She married into our Dutch family, by choice, I hope and pray. I wish I knew more. But I want her to know I remember her and want her to be a part of the layers of strong women within me, and my daughters, and granddaughters. Help us to be a part of the layers of strong women in our generations of daughters to come.
